Biketober Jam was a huge success on Saturday, October 10th, 2009! Barachel Bike And Skate was invited by Winter Garden Village at Fowler Groves to have the annual crazy
street BMX contest in their parking lot. Despite the hot weather and rain delays, lots of riders and spectators were on hand to witness the kids show their skills on all the custom ramps.
Barachel's first major BMX street contest was a big hit - better than imagined. The AST DEW Tour jumped in and sponsored the "Block Party" along with Ball Park Franks, Mountain Dew, Nike, and UGP. All contests and contestants were awesome, including the insane long jump and hot dog eating contests!
Barachel Bike and Skate is a Christian family owned store and skate park in Winter Garden, Florida. It is owned by Tim Fake and his wife, Joyce. They have two children, Torie and Colt, who are both involved with action sports.
The west side of Orlando needed a place for kids of all ages to have access to an indoor facility and a place to purchase parts and supplies without having to drive to the other side of town. Also on rainy days kids can get out and do some physical activity rather than sit inside and play video games, etc.
Our goal in this business is to reach children and show them that they can achieve anything they want, with some determination and hard work, and that they don’t need drugs, profanity, or to be mischievous to be somebody. Barachel gives a family atmosphere, promotes positive attitudes, helps kids progress at a skill which they enjoy.
